NOVAdance is feeling the LOVE this month <3 Happy February Blog! We are in the home-stretch of fundraising before the Day-of, and held so many awesome events this month to help us reach our goals! Let’s see what's in the NO-VA dance this month…
2/1: Cat Cares Wells Fargo Game
Though Villanova basketball may not have won… we most certainly did by spending time with our B+ Heroes at the Wells Fargo Center at the beginning of the month! What a great way to start a jam-packed month filled with fun NOVAdance events!
2/2: Joe Talk
New members of Greek organizations really showed up to hear Joe McDonough speak at the beginning of February. As always, it was an honor to hear Joe speak about the message of the B+ Foundation and share Andrew’s story with us. This got new members of Greek life fired up and encouraged more fundraising efforts leading up to the Day of!
2/4: World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day aims to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. We are proud to share that NOVAdance raised over $50,000 for the B+ Foundation in this single campaign. This campaign helped us center in on our goals for this year of assisting families so no one fighting childhood cancer rides alone.
2/6: GOG
We loved seeing everyone’s amazing moves in the Alumni Gym for GOG! After tough rounds of tug-of-war, trivia, and a heated dance battle, Pi Kappa Phi took the trophy for the 2nd year in a row and was named “Greatest of the Greeks”!
2/16: Valentine’s Day Hero Party
On Sunday, February 16th, the annual Valentine’s Day Hero Party was held in Cafe Nova for students, heroes, and their families to come together and celebrate! With it being B+ Heroes Pascal and Julia’s first party, this was an event you did not want to miss. From playing spikeball to eating delicious baked goods, our last Hero Party of the semester proved to be a success.
2/22: B+ Ball
The Carpet Room in Bartley Hall was decked out for the B+ Ball on Saturday the 22nd! The Special Events Team planned and executed an amazing event with plenty of food, raffles, and auction items! It was an honor to hear B+ Hero Ellie speak about her own journey with childhood cancer to get us fired up for the Day of.
2/23: NOVAdance Basketball Tournament
Thank you to our Community & Alumni Relations Team for hosting a successful basketball tournament on Sunday the 23rd! This event was exactly what we needed heading into midterms week and was a great opportunity to fundraise FTK with some friendly competition
2/25: UDance DAY
In a vicious battle between NOVAdance and the University of Deleware’s Dance Marathon Team…the kids won! In one of our biggest fundraising days of the year, the collective efforts of NOVAdance and UDance were able to help over 200 families. Though it came with some friendly competition, we were thrilled to collaborate with UDance to raise money for the B+ Foundation.
We hope everyone has a safe and fun Spring Break! When we return, the official countdown to the highly anticipated Day-of begins…We are so excited and know you all are too! See everyone in March!
